FROM GOODREADS

A past of secrets, a life broken by death―awakens to a world of promise and love, but lurking danger threatens to destroy it all.

In Carson City, Nevada a tragic car accident has claimed the lives of Nexi Jones’ adoptive parents. Now, without them, her reason to live has vanished and she is determined to end her pain.

The problem with that, it’s not heaven she wakes up to, it’s the Otherworld. Nexi must reconcile the truth about her past, and her heritage as part guardian/part witch, while she begins to train to join the Council’s guard. But it’s not the combat training that has her worried, its attempting to keep her cool around the luscious guardian, Kyden that’s her biggest concern.

Before long, Nexi’s skills are put to the test as she begins to fight against the supernatural who have taken a human life. But nothing can prepare her for the journey ahead. Soon, she will find herself lost in a mystery and fighting to keep all she’s gained, as Lazarus, a vampire, threatens to take it all away.

Amber I's Thoughts

Another awesome book. I am starting to love these books that are not that long. Nothing seems to ever get dragged out. Its all non stop action. This book was only 124 pages and I had to read it all at once.

The World Stacey has built is amazing. We get all kinds of supernaturals and one kick ass leading lady. I love her way to turn everything into a joke when things get serious. Totally can relate. Plus she is one of those who will speak her mind no matter who she is talking to.

I love the sister bonding. Just having a bond with out all that lovey dovey stuff. It was great and the 2 girls seem so opposite its like they balance one another.

Have no fear we have some awesome romance here. The chemistry between the two was intense and it grew through out the whole book. The ending was awesome.

Its also a really sad book. Nexi loses so much so fast. Then things she just gets, gets taken away. It was really sad and you just felt her pain. I instantley connected with her.

I can not wait to read the next book!!  It was just so fast paced, we had an awesome lead who was sarcastic, tough and loveable. And a romance that will leave you wanting more!!!

Amber R's Thoughts

All I can truly say is, Wow! I am usually a fan of huge books. In my world the longer the better. However I love, love, love this series by Stacey Kennedy. Did I mention I love it? The story line is so full and intricate it's not even like you're only reading 124 pages. I love Nexi's determination and attitude. She's very fiesty and I love that about her. She's thrust into this world that she doesn't understand logically but she knows in her heart and in her soul this is where she belongs. The relationships between the characters is so deep and meaningful. You can just feel the love and understanding surrounding all of these characters. The romance between Nexi and Kyden is AMAZING. They are so fiesty together, I love it.

I have to say I've read a couple of reviews with people hating on this book. I think they are insane. This book is awesome. I could hardly wait to read the next.

I would and have recommended this book to everyone. It's great!
